Patent Mapping

Dr. Lerson Tanasugarn was the first person to bring the patent mapping methodology into Thailand. Following AOTS/JIII training in Japan in 1995, Dr. Lerson was awarded a grant of US$124,000.00 in 1997 from the National Research Council of Thailand, in collabortion with Chinnawatr Satellite and Thai Satellite, to test patent mapping methodology on technologies related to communication satellites.

Approximately 3,000 patent documents were analyzed with the help of about 30 space and telecommunication engineers in the team. Results were reported to NRCT in 2001.
